4. Officers’ Reports

a. Secretary: Charles Cerniglia

-Thank you from Karla Phelps for gift on the passing of her father.

-Thank you from the General’s Academy for donation used to purchase books for students.

-Thank you from Deb Blough for gift acknowledging her retirement.

-Thank you from Joanie Bruch for gift acknowledging her retirement.

-Thank you from Michelle Zerrer for gift acknowledging her retirement.

-Thank you from Brookdale Hospice for donation made in memory of Paul Indorf.

-Thank you from WEA Scholarship recipient Audrey Cochran.

-OEA RA election will take place on Tuesday, September 21st in WHS Room C233. Please submit nominations to WEA Secretary Charles Cerniglia. Nominations will be taken from the floor.

-Points sheet is a problem for classified staff.

d. Vice-President Certified: Robin Gonzalez

– Concerns about numbers for special education.

-Association membership contributed significantly to helping develop PD day.

-ERC has not met and are awaiting for an upcoming MOU.

-Teachers evaluated and rated accomplished during the 2018-2019 school year should not be evaluated this year.

e. WEA President’s report: Scott S. Miller

-Challenging start to the school year with new administration and other issues.

5. Committee Reports

a. Membership: Refer to Treasurer’s report

b. Classified Grievance: Cassie Badillo

-Level II grievance concerning midday route where seniority not taken into account.

-Level II grievance concerning summer work for contract employees.

-Level II grievance concerning summer help list.

-Level II grievance concerning summer van route assignment that is still outstanding.

-Level I grievance concerning three bus routes that have not been posted or appropriately condensed.

-Level II grievance concerning the incorrect placement on the salary schedule of a staff member.

c. Certified Grievance: Brian Burdine

-Grievance won concerning elementary school open house times.

-Potential grievance concerning high school guidance counselors concerning pay for additional days worked over the summer.

d. Legislative Update: Scott S. Miller

-Ohio Redistricting Committee

e. Evaluation Review Committee: Robin Gonzalez

-Refer to Vice-President Certified Report.

f. Organizing Committee: Karen Linch and Brian Burdine

-Organizing Committee laying the groundwork for year long plans ahead of bargaining.

g. OEA Board of Directors: Karen Linch

-All committees and RA likely to be virtual.

6. Labor Relation Consultant (LRC) Report: Alison Hoffa

-Nothing to report.

-WEA 2021-2022 Budget Second Reading

-Nominations for OEA RA to Elections Chair Charles Cerniglia

-Bargaining Update

-Bargaining roundtables in October into November, surveys to follow and development of issues.

-Labor Management training for September 28th.

-IBB training will be in October.
