–  Look at election process for WEA leadership and put together an Elections Committee to try and make the process fair using our bi-laws and OEA recommendations, present at Feb. 18 Executive Committee Meeting.  Ask to approve a committee of Heather S., Clay P., Jim I., Tracy Y. and Eric B. (nonvoting member).  (Approved)

  1. Organizing Committee:  Karen Linch and Mandy Wagner, co-chairs

–  Looking at tentative bargaining dates to support team

–  Affiliate grant to support bargaining

 

  1. ECOEA and OEA Board of Directors: Mandy Wagner

–  Had a retreat and looked at strengths and opportunities

– Threats of loss of payroll deduction and organizing to see how to combat

–  IDEA and Title 9

 

  1. Labor Relation Consultant (LRC) Report: Joel Glasser (not in attendance)

  3. Presentation by Dominic Mendiola, OEA Political Advocacy Consultant
  4. Motion on Bond Issue

-Brian B. steps down as President and makes motion to consider support bond issue and financial support, Mandy W. 2nd

*  Carol E. adds a friendly amendment motion to strike the financial support at this time, Alicia H. 2nd (Passed Unanimously)

 

–  Clay P. makes a motion to financially support the levy committee’s efforts on the bond issue at an amount of $2,000, 2nd Jane W. (Passed Unanimously)
