 Executive Committee – February 18, 2025 – WHS District Meeting Room

– One grievance with 4 issues some agreed upon others moving to level two.

– Email sent to committee to get membership to show up and support.

– Affiliate grant looking for opportunities to get members together (Book Club, Movie, Bowling, etc.)

– STRS retirement meeting

  1. ECOEA and OEA Board of Directors: Mandy Wagner

– Senate passed SB1 impacts bargaining abilities

– SB8 prohibits release time for politics

– SB44

– SB69 Public pension reform

– SB3 HB30 phase down state income tax

– OEA Board of directors endorsed a candidate and still will have another candidate for STRS board

– Take action on SB1

– Statewide pole more than half poled opposed and 80% said should have same accountability and 69% of poled favor our educators

– ECOEA dinner Friday Feb. 28th

  1. Elections Committee: Eric Brooks

– “Get to know you blurb” (300 words or less) sent to Nate Greene on the Wednesday the week before the election to be sent out the Friday before the election on Tuesday along with a reminder to vote.

– LGIR or larger space

– GA begins at 5:30pm with nominations from the floor and speeches from the floor voting to follow 6:00pm-10:00pm

– ID and or Badge elections committee will adjust process for ballots and relay information to members
